You don't have to compete in a prelim to qualify to compete at State. BFG State is now open to all GA residents and surrounding states. Attire for state is the same as for local preliminary competitions, your choice of blue jean bottom and a white top, you may have trim or design on the top but all detail must be white. Designs or trim of different colors are allowed on the bottoms. There is no makeup allowed for contestants age newborn to 12 years. Only age appropriate makeup for girls 13-up with an emphasis on minimal makeup. Hairstyles need to be simple and styled with their natural appearance such as: straight hair should be left straight and curly hair should remain curly. Hair bows, ribbon, barrettes and headbands are allowed. Jewelry, if any, should be small and tasteful. Shoes are your choice but should complement your outfit or dress. Always remember simple is better. We are looking for a naturally beautiful contestant and that is what should shine the most! There are no modeling skills required or expected. There will be 2 X's. The first will be center stage and your child will stand there while we announce their name, age, and parents names. They will then exit the stage and go and stand directly in front of the judges table on the second X for an up close view. All contestants will then be judged on first impression, personality, and natural beauty. After the contestants' bio is read, they will be excused and may be seated again with their parent. We will compete then award all contestants ages 0-6 years old first, followed by competition and awards for contestants 7-up. There will be one Top Model awarded in each age division. All other contestants will be awarded a Future Star trophy for competing in the state competion. Age division winners will receive a $500 savings bond, a 6ft trophy, a Top Model sash, and a 1 year model management contract with Kids for Casting. There will be 2 overall winners, 1 in 0-6 years, and 1 in 7-up. Overall winners will receive a $1000 savings bond, an 8ft. trophy, a Top Model sash, and a 1 year model management contract with Kids for Casting. Optional Awards There are 2 optional categories included and judged in the natural beauty event; photogenic and best personality. None of the optionals determine the winner of queen, king, or overall. Photogenic entries should be no larger than 8 x 10 and need to be a natural picture or snapshot, no touched up photos are allowed. One picture is included and all extra pictures are $10 extra. All optional winners will receive a trophy. All optionals can be double awarded, meaning you may win one or more of these optionals and you can still win division Top Model or Overall Top Model. Optionals are included in the entry price they are not extra. You must turn in a picture, photo scores are added in to determine the age division and overall top model winners. Talent Competition Talent is an optional title and is not required for division or overall titles. You may dance, sing, recite, or play an instrument. We will have a piano if needed. There is a 3 minute limit to the talent and all music must be labeled and qued for play. There will be a talent winner in each age division and the winner will receive a trophy. There wil be 2 overall talent winners (0-6 & 7-up). Overall talent winners receive a huge trophy and $200 savings bond. There will be an opportunity to practice on Friday Feb. 22, 2008. Model of the Year This is an optional competition and does not determine the winners of division or overall titles. There will be 2 winners one on 0-6 and one in 7-up. This optional will be judged during natural beauty competition and will be based on the judges pick for which contestant is the most marketable and has the most promise as a child model. The winner will receive a large trophy and a free photo shoot with a major modeling photographer. |
